Monday, 14th March we celebrated International Women’s Day with Cocktails for a cause, that saw a sell out crowd of 65 men and women, all to help raise awareness and honour the strength and courage we see in woman all over
the world everyday.
This year’s fundraiser at Barzura, hosted by Mari and Regina, saw attendees enjoy a Breakfast full of colourful fresh fruit salads, Bircher muesli and avocado topped with smoked salmon on fresh sourdough toast, prepared by
our talented Head Chef Boon, that was enjoyed whilst sipping our homemade breakfast Bellini’s.
Inspirational co-founders of the Possibility Project, Kath and Kim presented on the day and
warmed our hearts over the work they do with the Sparrow Sanitation project based in Jaipur, India.
This years fundraiser raised a staggering $7,000, with all proceeds going towards the women and communities the Possibility Project works with in the slums of Jaipur.
The Possibility Project works towards building vocational training and education for communities that live below the poverty line, whilst aiming to abolish the ‘myth’ that there aren’t enough resources in this world for everyone.
The team at Barzura would love the opportunity to thank all the lovely attendees that gave us their time, minds and hearts on Monday and helped us achieve our all time IWD fundraising high. Without all of your support we would not be able to accomplish such remarkable outcomes for our chosen charities every year.
Finally we would like to thank Regina from Thp Haircutters, Coogee for all of her great work with Cocktails for a Cause and a big thank you to all of our sponsors within the community. We look forward to doing it all again with you next year.
